The Black Infant Maternal Health Initiative (BIMHI) of Kern County is focused on a three-year strategic plan that includes three specific goals that address growing the number of Black health care professionals throughout the county, facilitating focus groups to support mental health of moms, and coordinating both public and provider awareness campaigns on maternal health disparities. Each of the goals, with a timeline and measurable outcomes, can be found in the progress report.
